The Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, also known as the "SafeSport Act," requires all amateur sports organizations to have a risk management program to promote the welfare of participants and adopt policies prohibiting sexual abuse.
Specifically, all Amateur Organization Members with minor athletes must offer the Center for SafeSport’s athlete training on an annual basis.
The Center’s Parent Training is available for free and can accessed by following the instructions below:
- Register or Log-In for the SafeSport Platform.
- Complete information on “Sign Up” page.
- Click on “Menu” and select “Catalog.”
- Click the Start button for “Parents Guide to Misconduct in Sport - U.S. Soccer Federation” to complete the course.
- Minor Athletes that wish to take SafeSport training may only do so after submitting a signed parental consent form to NJ Youth Soccer.
Please see the instructions to complete SafeSport training as a Minor:
- A parent/guardian shall download and submit an "Authorization for Minor Participation in Abuse Prevention" form to [email protected].
- Register or Log-In for the SafeSport Platform.

- Click on “Menu” and select “Catalog.”
- Click the Start button for “SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation” to complete the course.
