Go Soccer & BSA Alliance for Players Born Before 2003

Go Soccer FC and BSA have formed an alliance to provide a regional program for all players born before 2003.  BSA players are strongly encouraged to attend Go Soccer FC tryouts. These players will compete at an elite level of competition with players of similar skill.  All players who make a Go Soccer FC team can expect a competitive training environment that is geared for their success.

The program, which  is separately run from BSA, is specifically designed around the needs of the high school athlete, and will consist of quality teams of regional players each year.  Under the management and guidance of Ray O'Hagan, Go Soccer FC teams have quality coaches with college/professional level experience.

Go Soccer FC’s acceptance is broken down into two programs:

1.)    Summer Select Program (Birth years 2000 to 2002)

Tryouts held during the winter months (February-March)

Practices are end of June thru July; twice a week until first tournament, then once a week

Goalkeeper specific training

Scheduling specifics will be through our communication system-TeamSnap

Each team will compete in 3 tournaments through the tri-state region - players will be expected to play in 2 tournaments

Cost of this program: $475 (Uniform provided)

2.)    Full Go Soccer FC Program (Birth years 1999 to 2002)

Players that attend the Summer Select tryouts have the opportunity to receive offers for the full year program.

All Go Soccer FC teams will begin competitive play in late fall after the HS season has been completed. Winter consists of indoor sessions starting in January. In the spring season, teams compete in the Premier EDP league, top tournaments and cups in and outside the state of New Jersey.

A separate September to  October program will be facilitated for the Middle School players born in 2002  that will run until the full season begins in the late fall.

BSA and Go Soccer FC Adapting to Changes in Youth Soccer

BSA and Go Soccer FC Adapting to Changes in Youth Soccer

Local youth soccer organizations Bridgewater Soccer Association ("BSA") and Go Soccer FC ("GOFC") are making some important changes to their soccer programs in order to comply with mandates recently issued by the national governing body of youth soccer, US Soccer Federation ("USSF"). USSF has announced changes to team sizes and field sizes for all age groups. In addition, USSF mandated that teams must now be formed by the birth-year of players rather than the current school-year of players that had been in place for many years.

The state's youth soccer organizations and leagues have decided to implement these changes starting with the new 2016-17 soccer season that begins in
August 2016.  As a result, the BSA and GOFC annual try-outs will be organized by birth-year. As an example, all players born in the year 2007 will try out
for the 2007 team (Under 10) regardless of their school grade. BSA try-outs will be held in April/May for players born in 2003 and younger, and GOFC tryouts will be held in late February/early March for players born in 2002 and older.

According to Gwyn Williams, BSA 1st Vice President, BSA and GOFC are meeting these changes from the national organization head-on and in a transparent way so that parents are well informed, "These changes affect everyone in youth soccer, all across the country, and here in Bridgewater, where we have been a leader in youth soccer development for over 30 years, we felt it was important to make our program comply with these new national standards.  We wanted to be up- to-date and upfront with parents so that we can offer the best possible soccer experience for the players in order to foster their development and growth as soccer players."

BSA and GOFC look forward to helping players and parents ease into this transition. More information about the changes and tryouts can be found at
their websites, www.bridgewatersoccer.com and www.gosoccerfc.com or by emailing
